CrAzY wEeKeNd In Ky!!!

So last weekend my husband and I were VERY busy! We had our wonderful step-daughter for the last time before the movers came. So that was bitter sweet but we also planned to attend a Cincinnati Reds game on Sunday; well to throw more chaos into the mix I had my face to face interview.

So Saturday we drove 2 hours South of where we live now and took the girl home and then headed back home to pack and made our way to Cincinnati to stay at a friends house for the night. This way we could attempt to sleep before my interview. We got to Cincy late but my dear dear friend did not mind! I LOVE HER TO PIECES!

Sunday we were up at 5:30 and out the door by 6am...we had to be on the road by 6:30am to make it to Ft Knox by 9:30...the interview was at 10a.m. and the game was at 1:10pm...right...lol

My husband and I have quite the obsession for Starbucks and we can probably "sniff" out a Starbucks anywhere and luckily we spotted one off the freeway Sat night. So at 6am when we are leaving my friends house we are praying its open and luckily it was. We were so over joyed the gal working seemed highly annoyed and quite hesitant to give us any coffee that early in the morning. lol

So we made it to Ft Knox right on time everything went smoothly. We "relocated" the place for my interview. On our first trip to Ft Knox to see the house we would be renting I saw the company I applied for from the free way; however I wasn't quite sure where. After locating it we drove down a ways to the Walgreens so I could change into my interview outfit. Then I headed the my interview.

The interview went really well and all I could think about is how well the day was going. We had a little over 2 hours to get to the game which would be perfect timing. Well "thou shall not speak good or bad out" because my husband went to start our car & it wouldn't start!!! AGH!!! My worse nightmare and all I could do was pray the woman who had just interviewed me would not come out and see my "unreliable" transportation. Luckily there were other people in the parking lot who gave us a jump and we were back on our way looking for food b/c we were STARVING.

To be continued...

Job Search

So I obviously need a job when I move to KY and I wasn't to keen on looking (I mean what person actually does enjoy job searching?). What's really pathetic is that I don't even "have" to look the Army will set you up with a "recruiter" type person who basically emails you job postings and all you have to do is apply to them! Simple right? Its just I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job/company I work for currently and I really don't want to leave and when I don't want to face the inevitable I procrastinate like its my first name!

Well this week I decide to apply for an HR Position and just see what would happen. Our original plan was to wait until we got settled for me to find a job since my husband would be off for 30 days after we arrived in KY. However, this job seemed VERY similar to what I would be doing now...so I thought to myself if it was meant to be then I would get the job before we move and that would be it if not then I would stick to the plan.

Well I sent my resume on Tuesday, got a call back Wednesday scheduled a phone interview Friday and a "face to face interview" Sunday at 10am before going to a Cincinnati Reds game...oh dear this should be fun right?

We shall see...

THE RESULTS ARE IN...

and I have a "low thyroid". The Doc said my levels came back "slightly" low but combined with my symptoms he thinks I should be treated with a low dose of thyroid medication. Right now I'm relieved and in a state of shock at the moment. It seems sooo crazy that just a week ago I wouldnt imagine questioning if anything might be wrong with me. And now "low thyroid" its CRAZY! I now find myself searching the internet for articles and advice and how this new medication could "change" the way I feel. I just hope it truly is the answer to my miscarriages and that we will be able to get pregnant soon. My husband has turned into quite the woman asking for a baby and all so we shall see what happens :)

Crazy Times!

So life is just a wee hectic right now! I have been trying to squeeze lots of "friends" time into my life but the move is a dark cloud looming over me.

This past weekend I had a BLAST helping my friend out with her daughter's 4th Birthday Party! This friend of mine was the reason for me moving to Columbus and when I did her daughter wasn't even 2 yet...how times have flown by! On top of the awesome Pirate Themed party I got my "baby fix" with her 4 month old! He is the most adorable baby ever!

In the midst of this chaos I discovered thru a conversation at her house that I might have a low thyroid which could be the reason for my past 2 miscarriages. So thankfully my friends mom referred me to a great doctor and I saw him on Monday. We are just awaiting my results. He definitely thought I was a "prime" candidate for low thyroid and low progesterone (my progesterone was low during pregnancy) As the doctor bluntly stated "you don't stand a chance" to have a successful pregnancy without these 2 issues being resolved. I'm so grateful for finding someone who is finally being honest with me and is willing to get the issue resolved.

I will post pics of the party and more on my doctor's appointment later :)

Feelings

So not only do I feel very overwhelmed currently and I rightfully should! I just got married on July 4th, I'm moving and leaving my job of 4 years. But I also have the heartbreak of losing a child to a miscarriage and what would have been my due date is fast approaching...oh and it just so happens to fall around our moving date. I'm trying to stay "positive" but all I really want to do is crawl under the covers of my bed and cry until its all right to come out lol.

My husband has been great but sometimes a girl just needs to get her cry on lol. I'm hoping the "New Beginning" and positive thoughts will start to come out and day now. We went this past weekend to see the House we will be renting and I fell in love with it but at the same time the nursery in the house is nothing but a dagger to the heart. Maybe the family who has been living there will pass their good fertility on to us :)

Lets hope right!

Anyone with positive thoughts and words of encouragement your comments are welcome!

"Clause"

I felt this blog needed a "clause" I wanted to put it out there...that I am in no means trying to make fun of "Southern Belles" or the ways of the South. I just figured I better put this out on the table right now in case a stranger comes across my blog and decides to get offended which at that point I would probably tell them to go read another blog then!! HAHA! But seriously this Blog is for the mere purpose of journaling my thoughts and journeys of my new life :)

Hope its a good read for someone other than me!

Definition of Southern Belle

According to Wikipedia.com a Southern Belle is...

A southern belle (derived from the French belle, 'beautiful') is an archetype for a young woman of the American Old South's upper class.
During the period, Kentuckian
Sallie Ward of Louisville was the most noted belle in the South, and her portrait, which hangs in the Speed Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, is often called "The Southern Belle." A Southern belle epitomized Southern hospitality, cultivation of beauty and a flirtatious yet chaste demeanor.
The archetype continues to have a powerful aspirational draw for many people, and books like We're Just Like You, Only Prettier, The Southern Belle Primer, and The Southern Belle Handbook are plentiful. Other current terms in popular culture related to "Southern belles" include "Ya Ya Sisters," "GRITS (Girls Raised In The South)," "Sweet Potato Queens," and "Bulldozers disguised as powder puffs." Today, a Southern Belle is also another name for a
debutante from the southern United States.
To detractors, the southern belle stereotype is a symbol of repressed, "corseted" young women nostalgic for a bygone era.

For some reason ever since I was little I've wanted to be a Southern Belle. I place the blame for my fascination and somewhat obsession on my all time favorite movie "Gone With The Wind". I mean what Southern Belle doesn't love that movie? Its the definition of "Southern Belle". I have even been known to walk around public places speaking in a thick Southern drawl calling myself Scarlett Sinclair and my side kick Delilah Davenport acting like I'm a snooty Southern Debutante. (My mother can well contest to this...can't you?)

So much to my surprise God has placed me into one of the hearts of Southern Belles...KENTUCKY! My husband is in the Army and they are moving us from Columbus, OH to Kentucky. So I thought what better way to 1) Keep my friends & families updated about my new "Southern Life" and 2) Journal my way to finally becoming the Southern Belle I have also longed to be then to start blogging about it? :)

So here goes nothing y'all!!!
